LONG EXPECTED COLLECTION : ERDEM X H&M

In this July the new design collaboration has been revealed, fashion house H&M and British brand Erdem. The wardrobe is romantic, but modern womenswear, which also includes an accessories line and a collection for men. The collection enchantes us with its beauty, subtlety and rich details. There is also a unique short video called "The Secret Life of Flowers" made by filmmaker Baz Luhrmann which fulfills it.

In my opinion, the collection tells a romantic story with its floral prints and delicate detailing. It shows a plentitude of floral prints (some are white and some have a vibrant colours to it) which gives the feeling of innocence and sentimentality that is connected to early spring when everything is awakening.

When l saw the clothing pieces, I realized they might be to difficult to mix and match these bold prints with other pieces l have in my closet. While l was observing the collection for a while, l knew l was thinking too much and as time passed by l started to fell in love with it. These deeply colour tones are giving the dark, dramatic feeling to the delicate floral prints. Some items seems to look more traditional and old fashioned than the others. But l think that is the point. It raises the collection to another level. In my opinion, there should always be some different pieces included that not everyone will purchase, but only those who find it truly challenging.

This collection also includes some simpler items, for example one-colour hoodie, jumper, suit, blazer and skirt, handbags, socks, shoes, scarves, jewellery, and for the first time ever, Erdem´s menswear collection. It includes British style coats, suits and it's most different part, the pajama silk style shirt and trousers. Their background colours mixed with the floral print give us the countrified feel, however the items themselves are gentle and modern.

This flawless collection is a limited edition and it will be available in H&M stores worldwide and online from november 2nd.
