LACK OF DIVERSITY

When l heard about this launch, l was really excited, l didn't try any of the Tarte products but l like and support the brand. Also, as everyone`s favorite is their shape tape concealer, l wondered to hear how is the foundation gonna look. But as l was watching reviews about it, it turns out that the foundation is amazing, but there is something else they flopped in.

When a brand failed to, and even doesn't try to include people of color, is just offensive, and actually lazy. Since the foundation was released, there has been more information, and there was a article l found in popsugar, in which Tarte explains :

„When the shape tape foundation was revealed, the new color were already in the works. Additional shades are usually added seasonally, which makes sense because your complexion tends to be paler in the winter and darker in the summer.“

ln my opinion, that is soo ignorant to say and it is the stupidest thing l have read – ever! It is like saying people of color have a dark tan..... no, that`s their skin color actually. skin is not seasonal, it is a skin tone. On Tarte Instagram story, they just recently said that they are really sorry, there was a big hyper around this foundation launch, so we wanted to launch it as soon as possible.... ah, nooo!! So many people were excited, and couldn't wait for this launch, so you don`t launch a product you cant include everyone into! Because they are literally saying that people with darker skin can wait. I mean What?! I cant even imagine how this would feel. You like a brand and support it, and you go on website and you cant even find you shade, it doesn't exist in fact! It is not ok to put 10 light shades and 2 dark ones, it`s just isn't right!.

Lets just mention when Fenty beauty came out with such an fantastic range, 40 shades of foundation were released, which is beautiful, everybody could find their color, and plus people loved the foundation! And people would think, and it is 2018, it is understandable that when brands put their product out, it should be for all skin tones! It is all bout valuing their customers and treating them equally, rather then making as much money as quickly as possible by launching the foundation sooner, like Tarte just did.
