`Creativity isn’t an occupation; it’s a preoccupation. It invents, perfects and defines our world. It explains and entertains us.` - John Hegarty

In today's world, it is a big challenge to let your creativity loose, even for me. When l first picked up this book l thought – oh this is gonna be another book of rules. But when l opened it, that thought immediately disappeared. l has a lot of drawings and sketches , like it is the author`s sketchbook . But the most interesting part is that, you feel like the author is having a conversation with you – yes, it is that casual! John Hegarty offers a bible of creative thinking, aimed at provoke, to challenge and to inspire, as he says in the book `greater heights of innovation`.

From history to music - Renaissance art to rock ‘n’ roll, Hegarty takes a wide-angle view of creativity as he sets out to show the many ups-and-downs that can occur during the creative process. Daunted by cynics in the workplace? Money leading you astray? Paralyzed by the blank page? Is my favorite one, where he leaves a page in the book blank and shows you that you don`t have to be intimidated or scared by it. Hegarty also combines personal experience with clear and good-humored insight into dealing with all creative challenges that are in your way and engaging in them. Over fifty entries, including “Good is the Enemy of Great,” “Respect Don’t Revere,” “Get Angry,” and “Bad Weather” deliver useful and reasonable advice on how best to advance, maintain and nurture your creativity in anything that you do.

I am finishing this post with just one more thought from the book :

`Creativity doesn't have rules – it has only guidelines.` - John Hegarty
