This documentary fashion film named `Franca` is about a woman who did not only transformed a magazine, but a point a view on fashion as well. Franca Sozzani was a beautiful, passionate and fierce woman. Born 20th January 1950 in Italy, Franca gave Vogue magazine such a powerful voice so that the whole world would hear it, and so it did.

Before being the `Editor – in – chief` of Vogue, in 1988, Franca first became an assistant at Vogue Bambini in 1976. Franca dedicated her years at Vogue Italia to show people the limits of fashion imagery. She attacked social, political and environmental issues with a courage and show people through fashion imagery by using Vogue magazine as a platform.
Many people thought that she took Vogue too far with this. But she was determent to take those modern issues and bring them to light. People should understand that fashion is everywhere and everything, it is not about the clothes and luxury,it is about life and people shouldn't close their eyes to those issues. And what better way than through such a world known magazine. Franca has really shown what she was really capable of, and she will be an eternal inspiration to the whole world.
2008 `A black issue`

Franca was the first one who createdd an special Vogue issue featuring all black models called `A black issue`. It was published in 2008 and it gave black men and women a strong voice which is as equaly important as the voice of white people. This issue was long expected by black people, and when Franca did that is was really well received.
That should be, even today, a big inspiration to the industry because for exaple she was the one who noticed that in the fashion catwalk, from i dont know 30 models, 3 of them are black. People didnt pay attention to that, but she was the one who stood up to this problem and talked about it, which is beyond inspiring.

2010 `Water & Oil` issue
My favorite is the oil spill issue in 2010 which was photographed by Steven Meisel. This images are extremely powerful, you can actually feel the pain and suffer of these poor animals who died there. They are giving me a real chills but a huge respect for Franca, because the world should see and feel and discussed those issues in as many ways as possible and they should not be ignored. Franca didn't care about the controversial subjects, and she created this issue to show that “Fashion isn’t really about clothes-it’s about life”. Of course it split the opinions and many were saying that she was „glamorizing the disaster“,that it wasn't necessary to do and that she was mocking.
What do you think?
